Paul Loh Eng Wah (1961)
A very warm welcome to
fellow Georgians, guests and friends to our 44th Annual
Reunion Dinner and Dance 2007.
I also extend a special welcome to the Board
of Governors, SMK St George led by its Chairman Old Georgian
Dato' Ong Chin Choon (1963) DIMP, PMP, JP and guests of the
Board. On this occasion, the Board will be holding a
ribbon‑cutting ceremony for prominent Taiping citizens who
have made generous contributions towards the SGI Building
Development Fund. Through the tireless leadership and
initiative of Dato' Ong, the Board is also launching a
project, "A Book of Sons of St Georges" where personal
particular and achievements of Old Georgians together with
their personal photographs are recorded in a "who's who
book". This will be a stamping mark for Georgians to be
remembered for generations in school archives, public
library and personal library of Georgians and friends
reminiscing their past years and achievements. This will
also be a good reference source for networking among
Georgians and friends.
Fellow Georgians, please support this good
and memorable cause. The funds collected from this will be
used to upgrade SGI.
I must also inform you that SGI primary
school, SK St George I has recently been refurbished,
repainted and renewed through the generous support of
Georgians, in particular Mr Lee Seng Chuan (1961) of Lee
Foundation who has generously contributed another
RM30,000.00 in December 2006 on top of the RM30,000.00 in
2005. Through the capable leadership of the Headmistress Pn
Hamisah and the Chairman of Board of Governors SK St George
1, Dr Lim Kean Ghee (1975), the primary school will achieve
success and produce good students.
The Lee Foundation through Mr Lee Seng Chuan
has also contributed RM250,000.00 for the past few years to
SGI secondary school.
In true La Sallian spirit, OGA Taiping has
also assisted in raising funds for the following through the
generosity of Old Georgian Mr Lee Seng Chuan of Lee
Foundation, namely:
* Old Paulian Association,
Seremban ‑ RM50,000.00 towards SMK St Paul Building Fund
for a new hall and classroom block.
