Old Georgian Association (OGA) had been actively soliciting funds to expand and maintain the physical facilities of our Alma Mater. OGA had raised more than RM$100,000.00 since 1995 to fund the following improvements to SGI and this is mainly through the generous support of our sons of SGI. We must mention in particular the support of Lee Seng Chuan (1961) of Lee Foundation and the substantial direct donations of Mah Siew Hian (19..)

  • Expansion of library covering the equivalents of 3 classrooms at ground floor right wing of main building. (completed in 1997)
  • Repairing with concrete of main drive way which was in poor condition with badly worn bituminous surface. (in 1997)
  • Conversion of 1st floor former Brothers' lounge and dining/kitchen room to computer room and audio-video room in 1998.
  • Installing 14 computers enabling pupils to learn in a computing environment in 1998 (in 1995 there were only 2 computers, one for admin. office, one for library and 3 other computers without hard disk). OGA raised funds to install hard disks in them; showed how poorly equipped SGI was then.
  • Conversion of 2nd floor Brother's living quarters to 3 Form 6 classrooms in 2002.
  • Repair of toilet block in 2004.
  • Repainting of main block in 2002.

The President who was then the VP was personally involved in giving professional advice as an Engineer.
