SGI Administration

Present Headmistress is Ms. Yoong Yoke Yam who was transfered in February 2003 from "the school across the drain" (King Edward VII) after 16 years illustrious career as a senior teacher to lead our Alma Mater. She had continued the "resurfacing" (ie repainting) of SGI rear buildings where the former "Director" Mrs Sujatha Vasanthan left off after repainting the main building.

Mrs Sujatha was appointed "Director" in 1993 taking over from the last La Salle Director, Rev. Bro. Charles Levin who is presently retired in SXI La Salle Centre. Prior to this, she was "Director" of St. Anthony School in Teluk Intan. During the 10 years tenure, she had tremendously improved the facilities of SGI as evidenced by the most handsome painted building in Taiping. In 2004, the school has an enrolment of 1400 with 79 teaching staff. The teaching facilities has been stretched and this year further elongated to limit of Hooke's curve with additional Form 5 and Form 6 classes.

Presently SGI has only 3 Georgians teaching there.

Recent SGI stalwarts like Gee Hoo Chai (1965) and Patrick Teoh (1960), Wong Pak Kiong (1963) had retired leaving Chan Fook Keong (1975), Hooi Kum Woh (1973) and Chin Kong Cheow to carry on the SGI traditions.
